MINUTES OF TOWN OF COON BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING

SEPTEMBER 13, 2005


The regular meeting of the Town of Coon Board of Supervisors was held at the Coon Town Hall on September 13, 2005 at 7:30 p.m.


Present: Orlan Bakkum, chairman; Leon Minor and Craig Storm, supervisors; Jan L Ihle, treasurer ; Dale Haugrud, patrolman and Lorraine Bakkestuen, clerk.


Also present was Vince Schmitz as prospective uniform dwelling inspector for the Town of Coon.


Chairman, Orlan Bakkum opened the meeting.


Minutes of August 2005 regular board of supervisors meeting were approved as typewritten by Leon, seconded by Craig. All aye. Motion carried.

Moved by Craig, seconded by Leon to accept the treasurers report. All aye. Motion carried


Due to the cancellation of Dale & Elaine`s health insurance coverage under Blue Cross-Blue Shield which was a group plan, temporary coverage had been issued for $739. 80 and a premium of $672.44 was charged for Blue Cross-Blue Shield coverage subject to underwriter`s decision of acceptance. The clerk was to write a check to Dale for the combined amounts. ($1,412.24)


Dale reported sand and salt report was the same as last month.


Moved by Leon, seconded by Craig to pay all claims. All aye. Motion carried.


Dale expressed an interest in obtaining a pager for quicker response if he is needed to open roads, etc.


Orlan reported that the Fire Association had received $40,000 in grants for radios and pagers.


Moved by Leon, seconded by Craig to adopt a Uniform Dwelling Code Ordinance to go into effect after acceptance by the state and publication. All aye. Motion carried.


A Uniform Dwelling Permit Inspector contract with Vince Schmitz was approved by motion made by Leon, seconded by Craig. All aye. Motion carried. Contract also subject to approval by state.


The next regular board of supervisors meeting to be held at the Coon Town Hall on October 11, 2005 at 7:30 p.m.


The budget preparation meeting set for October 18, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. at the Coon Town Hall.


The budget hearing for 2006 budget was set for November 14, 2005 at 7:30 p.m.


Moved by Craig, seconded by Leon to raise patrolman wages by three and one quarter percent and retirement by 5 cents. All aye. Motion carried.


A motion was made by Leon, seconded by Craig to raise Marc Peterson`s hourly wages by $.52 per hour or #14. 28 per hour.

 

Moved by Leon, seconded by Craig to raise part time wages to $13.00 per hour. All aye. Motion carried.


Marc could time off when it was needed.


Fall cleanup days set for October 7th and 8th.


The 95 truck was failing, (transmission could go out) The board and Dale would be on the look out for a used lower mileage truck to replace it.


Moved by Craig, seconded by Leon to close the meeting. All aye. Motion carried.
