MINUTES OF TOWN OF COON BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING
AUGUST 9, 2005
The regular monthly meeting of the Town of Coon Board of Supervisors was held at the Coon Town Hall on Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at 7:30 p.m.
Present: Orlan Bakkum, chairman; Craig Storm and Leon Minor, supervisors, Janice L Ihle, treasurer; Lorraine BAKKESTUEN, clerk and Dale HAUGRUD, patrolman. Also present were Jerry Kins and Mark Garlick from Chimney Rock Appraisals.
Call to order by chairman, Orlan Bakkum.
Moved by Craig, seconded by Leon to accept the typewritten minutes of the July Town of Coon Board of Supervisors meeting. All aye. Motion carried.

Moved by Leon, seconded by Craig to accept the treasurer`s report: All aye. Motion carried.
The assessors said the revaluation of the Town of Coon would be completed by August 10, 2005 Paper work would take some time. They still had left to check personal property values. Open Book would involve 4 days to make sure all who wish to attend would have and opportunity to do so. Board of Review would be in October. No definite day to be set at this time.
Most woodland would be assessed at half price this year All omitted property would be listed under new construction.
Clerk to bill Elmer Ofte for culvert in the amount of $142.56.
Clerk to send Gerald Johnson form for applying for building permit from the Town of Coon even though he has a Uniform Dwelling permit from State. Clerk also to send second notice to Dennis & Judy Larson.
Trent Strang, Vernon County Sanitation Director said the Syl Liebl property was in a flood plain. The Town of Coon could deny rezoning request
Town of Coon may be out of compliance next year depending on sales affect.
The assessors said omitted property would not be on state equalized values-just on local assessment.
Orlan reported that the sand and salt were the same.
The next regular Town of Coon Board of Supervisors meeting will be held on September 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Coon Town Hall.
Orlan reported that the Fire Association possibly receive a new FEMA grant.
SMART GROWTH: Leon reported that the governor was in favor of it. The Town of Coon was looking into getting their own Uniform Dwelling Inspector.
Rezoning of Liebl property: Leon felt that the board should not do anything on the rezoing request and just wait until Mr. Liebl and Secluded Land Co. did something. Secluded Land Co. has a 6 month option to buy the Liebl property.
The zoning committee had passed the rezoning issue to the Town of Coon Board of Supervisors who had decided to table it.
Moved by Leon, seconded by Craig to deny the request for rezoning of Syl Liebl property form Agriculture to Residential. All aye. Motion carried.
Jan gave Craig the number for the Town of Coon Website. which is www.tn.coon.wi.gov.
The new loader needs a new budget because it does not hold a load.
October cleanup days set for October 7th and 8th, 2005
Milan Dunnum had reported that Murphy cattle had been in the road which could cause problems. Dog also were running wild.
Electrical problems (short in wiring) reported on the rental property. Coulee Cap had sent forms to be signed for new freezer, refrigerator, furnace. A new cover for the cistern was also needed. The papers for Coulee Cap were signed and clerk to return them to Coulee Cap.
A discussion was held on destroying the rental property. Nothing could be done until another year.
Clerk to send notices to Gerald Johnson and Dennis & Judy Larson on obtaining a Town of Coon building permits for their respective buildings.
Jan Ihle brought up the request of the cleaning crew to have the town meeting room waxed again after two years. Jan would look into finding someone to do it.
Moved by Craig, seconded by Leon to close the meeting. All aye. Motion carried.
