TOWN OF COON BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING
SEPTEMBER 10, 2008
Town of Coon Board of Supervisors meeting was held at the Coon Town Hall on September 10, 2008 at 7:30 p.m.
Present: Orlan Bakkum, chairman; Craig Storm and Leon Minor, supervisors; Janice L Ihle, treasurer, Lorraine Bakkestuen, clerk and Dale Haugrud, patrolman.
Chairman, Orlan Bakkkum opened the meeting.
Craig made the motion to approve the minutes of the August meeting, seconded by Leon. All aye. Motion carried.

Moved by Leon, seconded by Craig to accept the treasurer`s report. All aye. Motion carried.

Sand and salt report the same as last month.
The Fire Association had been going over the fire station needs.
The next regular Town of Coon Board of Supervisors meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at 7:30 p.m.at the Coon Town Hall.
Budget preparation meeting was set for Monday, October 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Coon Town Hall.
Public Hearing on the 2009 budget will be held at the Coon Town Hall on November 17, 2008 at 7:30 p.m.
Leon had nothing to report on the Comprehensive Plan.
The Rudie dispute had been settled.
A discussion was held on the building of a home on a certain tract of land that was less than 2 acres of land and if someone such a parcel could someone else build on it.
Orlan reported that all storm damaged roads and bridges had been repaired.
The Town of Coon Board of Supervisors will be meeting with a FEMA representative.
Fall clean up days for large items will be held on October 10th and 11th at the collection site.
A discussion was held on the new contract for the patrolman for the 2008-2009 year. A further discussion was held on the part time help. Orlan would be checking on what the county wages and benefits for road workers.
Orlan had gone to a Ash Landfill meeting. Orlan would check on the legalities to find out where the township would stand if someone were to put in a ash landfill.
It was reported that a new disc mower would cost $9,000. Motion was made by Leon, seconded by Craig to purchase a disc mower for $3,250 from Swederski Implement.
A discussion was held on the purchase of road salt. It had been suggested that the County could buy from the State and scale out to the townships at a better cost. Town of Coon had contracted for salt for the coming winter.
Jan Ihle had brought up that she was having trouble with her computer and she was told to have someone fix the problem.
Motion to adjourn made by Craig, seconded by Leon. All aye. Motion carried.
