MINUTES OF TOWN OF COON BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING

OCTOBER 8, 2007


The Town of Coon Board of Supervisors met at the Coon Town Hall on October 8, 2007 at 7:30 p.m.


Present: Orlan Bakkum, chairman; Craig Storm and Leon Minor, supervisors; Janice L Ihle, treasurer; Lorraine Bakkestue, clerk and Dale Haugrud, patrolman.


Motion to approve minutes of previous regular Town of Coon Board of Supervisors meeting made by Leon, seconded by Craig. All aye. Motion carried.

Motion to accept treasurer`s report made by Leon, seconded by Craig. All aye. Motion carried.


Motion to pay all claims made by Leon, seconded by Craig. All aye. Motion carried.


The fire association intends to add two bays to present fire house and to increase dues accordingly.


Leon had received fromTown of Jefferson a copy of their comprehensive plan and no conflict was found.


Craig reported that the Wind Tower Ordinance had been completed. Another meeting was planned.


The driveway Ordinance had been completed..Public hearing on these ordinances were planned.


A property line dispute between Doris Johnson and Thomas Mathison. Mathison had built a pole shed too close to property line. Parties involved should settle the dispute between themselves.


The wiring and blacktopping for the sand and salt structure should be completed shortly.


The clerk had attended three hours of election training on October 4, 200


Three inspectors of election had attended 3 hours of basic training of October 4, 2007


Orlan reported that the storm damage had been completed. He had all th expense of the damage ready to turn into FEMA.


Fall large item cleanup days were set for October 12 and October 13, 2007. Clerk had published in the Westby Times and is also included in the Town of Coon Newsletter to be sent out On October 10th.


Patrolman`s contract signed. Increase in wages brings his hourly wage to #17.40 with time and one half paid for hours over 40 hours per week. All other benefits remain the same except for increase in retirement fund and the patrolman to be paid $35.00 for attending Town of Coon Board of Supervisors meeting once a month.


Moved by Leon, seconded by Craig to approve the patrolman`s contract. All aye. Motion carried.


Moved by Craig, seconded by Leon to increase the part time road labor wages from $12.50 to $13.00 per hour. All aye. Motion carried.


Discussion was held on removal of outer buildings on the rental property. Furnace in house had been wrecked by water in the storm. Sewer system would need to be upgraded, wiring out of date etc.


Budget preparation meeting scheduled for October 18, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. at the Coon Town Hall

Budget Hearing set for November 12, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. at the Coon Town Hall.

Public Hearings on 250 animal units for Zoning Ordinance, Wind Tower Ordinance and Driveway Ordinance to be held on November 15, 2007 at the Coon Town Hall.


Moved by Craig, seconded by Leon to deney the Village of Coon Valley request for $20 per person for summer recreation program. All aye. Motion carried.


Moved by Craig, seconded by Leon to adjourn the meeting. All aye. Motion carried.

MINUTES OF BUDGET PREPARATION MEETING

OCTOBER 15, 2007


The Town of Coon budget preparation meeting was held at the Coon Town Hall on Monday, October 15, 2007 at 7:30 p.m.


Present: Orlan Bakkum, chairman; Craig Storm and Leon Minor, supervisors and Lorraine Bakkestuen, town clerk.


The town board accepted the proposed budget as completed by the clerk, Lorraine Bakkestuen and would present it to the public at the public hearing scheduled for November 12, 2007 to be held at the Coon Town Hall.


The Town of Coon Budget for 2008 was proposed at $548, 924.00. Proposed levy to be levied amounted to $344,794.80.


The payment of the 15 year loan for the sand and salt shed of $145,000.00 would be discussed at the public hearing.
